Nominees Announced for the 2009 Glyph Awards

The organizers of the fourth annual Glyph Awards, designed to honor creators of color, and to recognize and promote diversity in comics and graphic novels, have announced the nominations for 2009. 

This year’s nominees include DC Comics/Vertigo’s Incognegro, Marvel Comics’ X-Men: Worlds Apart and IDW’s Presidential Material: Barack Obama, as well as many others. Click here to view a complete list of nominees and categories.

This year’s judges include Valerie D’Orazio, President of Friends of Lulu; Mathan Erhardt, Writer for Comics Nexus; Ed Mathews, Columnist for Pop Image; Tim O’Shea, Writer for TalkingWithTim.com; and Comics Reviewer and Commentator Elayne Riggs.

The winners will be announced at the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention (ECBACC) which will take place on May 16 in Philadelphia, PA. For more information about the ECBACC, click here.
