A Message from Steve Geppi
President & CEO of Diamond Comic Distributors
Greetings, and welcome to our special web site, which we've designed to help educators and librarians discover how comics can become a dynamic and positive addition to your classroom or library - and how Diamond can help you bring them to your readers!

Founded in 1982, Diamond is the world's largest distributor of English-language comic books, graphic novels, and comics-related merchandise. While our customers are primarily specialty retailers from around the world who sell graphic novels and comics as entertainment, we also know that classrooms and libraries can benefit from what graphic novels and comics have to offer.

Many adults have said that the vibrant graphics and exciting stories in comic books provided them, as children, with their first exposure to the joys of reading. Diamond works to encourage this with special programs such as its Comics for Causes program (which helps retailers donate comics to schools and non-profit organizations in their area). We have also worked closely with Literacy Volunteers of America to provide graphic novels and comics for use in adult literacy classes.

In other words, comics aren't just for kids, and they aren't just for fun. Graphic novels and comics are a powerful fusion of art and literature that can be used to communicate ideas and enrich lives - and Diamond wants to help you bring that power to your readers.

We look forward to serving you. Thank you for your interest in graphic novels and comics, and in Diamond.

Sincerely,
Steve Geppi

PS: If you'd like more information about graphic novels and comics in general, we also invite you to talk to - and purchase your titles from - the comic book specialty retailers in your area. Many of these business owners will welcome the opportunity to serve their communities by providing you with details and guidance on the most popular and progressive titles. They can be instrumental in helping you determine which books would be appropriate for your readers, and are an excellent ongoing, valuable resource for you.
